After uploading the pictures, select the type of color blindness: red blindness (Protanopia), green blindness (Deuteranopia), blue blindness (Tritanopia), Achromatopsia, etc. The tool simulates the color effects seen by this type of color blind patient.
Color blindness is a hereditary visual defect in which patients lack certain cones and cannot distinguish between certain colors. Red-green color blindness is the most common (about 8% of men), and blue-green color blindness is less common. The simulation algorithm uses a matrix transformation to map normal colors into the color blind perceptual space.
Designers use it to check whether the color matching of charts, maps, and UI is friendly to colorblind users. If the two colors are difficult to distinguish after color blindness simulation, the color scheme needs to be adjusted. Tools are also used for education and science popularization.
