Mancala is a free online game. Sow seeds around the pits and capture into your store; outscore the minimax AI in this ancient sowing game. Play instantly — no install, no waiting. It runs entirely in your browser — no download or sign-up needed.
The chessboard has two rows of 6 pits each, with 6 pits in front of each side, and a warehouse at each end. Initially, each pit has 4 seeds. Each round, take out all the seeds from a pit on one side of you and sow them clockwise one by one into subsequent pits and warehouses (without passing through the other's warehouse).
Score one point for the last grain that falls into your warehouse. If the last one falls into an empty pit on one side of you and there are children in the opposite pit, put the children on the opposite side into the warehouse. One party pits the all-space-time game to end, the other party collects the remaining items into the warehouse, and the one with the largest total wins.
The strategy is to calculate the sowing path and let the last seed fall into the warehouse or trigger capture. Being first has certain advantages. AI uses a minimax search to evaluate scoring expectations for each step.
In Mancala, two players take turns to pick up pieces clockwise from one pit, drop them into their own warehouse and score points. The first to collect more than half of the pieces wins.
