The key feature is to retain EXIF metadata of the original image (camera model, shooting time, GPS location, etc.), which ordinary compression tools typically discard. JPEG compression is achieved by re-encoding image data, using Canvas 'toBlob ('image/jpeg', quality) method. EXIF retention requires special processing: read the EXIF data block of the original file first, compress the image and then write it again. The tool completes all operations locally in the browser and does not upload files.
