Nixie Clock is a free online tool. A retro nixie-tube style digital clock.
The page displays a 6-bit digital tube, simulating the appearance of a real glow digital tube. Each number consists of a metal sheet that emits an orange-red glow when electrified. You can adjust the glow color (classic orange-red, blue, green, etc.), brightness, and flashing effect. Time is updated in real time, and there is transition animation when the number of seconds jumps.
Visual effects are simulated through CSS filters, shadows, gradients, or superimposed with a light effect using pre-rendered digital tube image. Digital switching can simulate the real glow build-up and decay process (approximately 100-200 milliseconds). Some versions use WebGL to achieve more realistic 3D effects.
Suitable for being a desktop clock decoration, the retro industrial style is very distinctive. Glow digital tubes were widely used in electronic equipment from the 1960s to the 1980s and have now become collectibles. This tool uses software to recreate that warm glow effect.
